Privacy Policy - AI Data Extractor

AI Data Extractor ("the Extension") is a browser extension that extracts structured data from webpages using AI-powered field detection. This privacy policy explains what data is collected and how it is used.

Data Collection

Data Stored Locally

The following data is stored in your browser’s local storage (chrome.storage.local) and never leaves your device:

Extraction cache — The most recent extraction result (columns, rows, source URL) for instant reload when reopening the popup
Usage counters — Daily extraction count and Pro model trial remaining count
License state — Whether a Pro license is active (boolean flag)
License key — Your Polar license key (if activated)
Activation ID — Your Polar activation identifier (if activated)

Page Content Sent for AI Extraction (Pro Mode)

When you use Pro mode extraction, the Extension sends preprocessed page content to our AI extraction server hosted on Cloudflare Workers:

Only the structured text content of the page is sent (HTML converted to Markdown)
No cookies, credentials, login tokens, or personal data are included in the request
The server processes the content in real-time and does not store it after the response is returned
Standard mode extractions are processed entirely locally and do not send any data

  Your extracted data is never stored on our servers. The AI server processes content in memory only and discards it immediately after returning the result.

Anonymous Analytics (Google Analytics 4)

The Extension sends anonymous usage events via the GA4 Measurement Protocol:

extension_installed — sent once on first install
extension_updated — sent on extension update
extraction_started — sent when an extraction begins (no page content included)
extraction_completed — sent when extraction succeeds (row count and format only)
extraction_failed — sent when extraction fails (error type only)
export_clicked — sent when data is exported (format only: CSV or JSON)
weekly_active — sent once per week to measure active usage

  No personally identifiable information (PII) is included. Events contain only a randomly generated client ID, the event name, and minimal parameters as described above.

License Validation (Polar)

When a license key is entered, the Extension communicates with the Polar API (api.polar.sh) to:

Validate the license key status
Activate or deactivate the license

Only the license key and organization ID are sent. No extraction data or personal information is transmitted.

Data NOT Collected

The Extension does not collect:

Browsing history or visited URLs
Personal information (name, email, etc.)
Cookies or tracking identifiers
Screenshots or page content (except the preprocessed text sent for Pro mode extraction, which is not stored)
Financial or sensitive data from extracted pages

Data Retention

Local storage data persists until you uninstall the Extension or clear browser data
Analytics events are retained according to Google Analytics’ standard retention policy
License data is managed by Polar according to their privacy policy
AI extraction server retains zero data — content is processed in memory and discarded immediately
