SubWatch ("the Extension") is a browser extension that helps you track and manage subscription costs. This privacy policy explains what data is collected and how it is used.
The following data is stored in your browser's local storage (chrome.storage.local) and never leaves your device:
The Extension sends anonymous usage events via the GA4 Measurement Protocol:
extension_installed — sent once on first installextension_updated — sent on extension updatesubscription_added — sent when a subscription is added (category name only; no subscription name or amount is included)subscription_deleted — sent when a subscription is deleted (category name only)dashboard_viewed — sent when the dashboard is opened (subscription count only)weekly_active — sent once per week to measure active usageWhen a license key is entered, the Extension communicates with the Polar API (api.polar.sh) to:
Only the license key and organization ID are sent. No subscription data or personal information is transmitted.
The Extension does not collect:
Pro users receive Chrome notifications 2 days before a subscription renews. Notifications are generated locally based on your stored subscription data and do not involve any external service.
